Thanksgiving Foods Ranked Worst to Best

I am very passionate about Thanksgiving foods, so I decided to share my opinion on which ones are the best, and which ones are the worst. Now you may be asking yourself, “What gives this lady the authority to rank Thanksgiving foods?” And the answer is nothing. I am just a food enthusiast who looks forward to getting an excuse to stuff her face every year. So without further ado, I present Thanksgiving foods worked from worst to best.

13. Sweet Potatoes

Coming in at dead last, we have sweet potatoes. These have never sat right with me. It tastes like dessert and you’re trying to have it with your dinner? And the marshmellos? It’s just way too sweet to be eating with dinner.

12. Stuffing

Stuffing is just glorified soggy bread with some vegetables mixed in. I think I’ll pass.

11. Cranberry Sauce

Cranberry sauce is, again, just too sweet for me. Besides that, the sauce is like a chunky liquid. I feel like I’m eating baby food and it doesn’t really add anything.

10. Apple Pie

Apple Pie is a classic for most people, and when it’s made right it’s pretty good. I, however, am not a pie person, hence it’s low ranking.

9. Pumpkin Pie

I enjoy pumpkin pie more than apple pie, and I feel forced to eat it every year because it is a “classic.” It’s honestly not that bad, but I can only have a small slice to enjoy it.

8. Green Bean Casserole

Green Beans without the casserole would be ranked much higher on my list, but because they’re in a casserole they deserved a lower ranking. I’m pretty neutral with the casserole, no hard feelings.

7. Dinner Rolls

I love dinner rolls! With that being said there are good ones and bad ones. They need to be warmed and eaten with butter, and the best kind are Hawaiian Rolls (I won’t be taking any arguments on this one).

6. Corn

I’m a corn lover. On the cob? Yes, please! Popped? I’m there. Corn with a little bit of butter and seasoning is so simple yet it adds so much to the meal. Also, if I had to pick a vegetable to eat with a Thanksgiving meal, corn would be it.

5. Corn Bread

Another delicious subset of corn, I thoroughly enjoy corn bread. This is another one of those things where it has to be made right. I am personally a fan of the corn bread without the corn kernels in it.

4. Turkey

This Thanksgiving classic had to be high up on the list. I only really eat turkey once a year, and every time I do it gives me a warm cozy feeling inside.

3. Mac n Cheese

Mac n Cheese is a food that I enjoy year round. It combines cheese (because who doesn’t love cheddar) and carb-filled pasta. Definitely one of my favorites!

2. Mashed Potatoes

If you don’t like potatoes, I don’t trust you. You can do anything to a potato and it would be delicious. No further explanation needed.

#1. Gravy

Gravy is the number one Thanksgiving food. The most important reason why is because it literally goes on everything. It goes on your turkey, mashed potatoes, rolls, and more. Without the gravy, my plate just wouldn’t feel the same.

Well, now that I have pissed a significant number of people off, I will leave you with the question: What’s your #1 favorite Thanksgiving food?
