If you’re anything like me, coffee is an everyday must! But sometimes Tik Tok or Starbucks coffee drinks can get boring. I have some hidden gems in the LA County area just for you coffee lovers! So sit back and read this list of small local businesses you can support.
Ventana
A window to coffee heaven. Get it? because ventana means window in Spanish?
But seriously, one of my favorite local coffee shops is located in West Covina. They are super friendly and have one of the best customer services I have ever encountered. They offer an assortment of special drinks such as strawberry lattes, slushes, hot teas, paninis, and of course coffee drinks. The best part about it all is the price! All the drinks are super reasonable for a broke college student like myself.
My go to drink is the iced latte (horchata flavor) or the rose matcha latte.

Coffee and Plants
The second gem on the list is Coffee and Plants. Located in the heart of Pasadena, this cafe offers outdoor seating and of course, coffee and plants! Guests can indulge in a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and pastries. What’s really fun about this shop is that they also are eco-friendly, hence the “plants” part of their name. The shop also sells plants to the guests! Oh, and did I mention the cafe has the cutest flower wall that is sure to make an insta-worthy pic!
My go to drink here is the 24K charcoal latte. It includes espresso, charcoal vanilla syrup, real gold leaves, and steamed milk. This drink can be a bit pricey compared to a typical cup of coffee, but why not treat yourself?

Mantra
Ahhh…a home away from home. No literally, this coffee shop is built in a house. Mantra coffee shop is located in the city of Azusa, and offers a beautiful outdoor seating patio filled with trees, flowers, and even a water fountain. It is definitely the perfect spot to study at and where you will most likely find other students to study with. Mantra is a popular stop for many Azusa Pacific University students. From coffees, to affogatos, and desserts, Mantra satisfies any coffee lover’s cravings. Prices are reasonable and the best part about this cafe is their eco-friendly glass re-use program launching in January of 2021.
My go to drink here is the hazelnut latte.
