If you’re like me and love movies and travel, then you’ll enjoy this list. Here are 5 movie filming locations you can actually visit in person.

  1. Philadelphia Museum of Art in Pennsylvania

In the 1980’s film, Rocky III, Rocky was filmed on these very steps when he was training for his fight. You can visit these steps and at the top is a statue of a boxer.

2. Carrie Bradshaw’s Apartment in New York

Located in New York, New York on Perry Street is Carrie’s iconic apartment from the tv show Sex and the City. Lover’s of the show have seen this apartment appear in most of the episodes. Be respectful when visiting as this is someone’s private residence.

3. Circus Liquor in Sylmar, California

Cher in the movie Clueless (1995) gets mugged at a liquor store after attending a party. You can go to this liquor store in Sylmar, California.

4. Hatley Castle in Colwood, British Columbia, Canada

A ton of movies and tv shows have been filmed here including: Smallville, Arrow, and Poltergeist: The Legacy. The most notable movies filmed here (and some of my favorites) are the X-men series. Hatley Castle is the home of Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters.

5. The Mrs. Doubtfire house in San Francisco, California

You can visit the home where Robin Williams dressed up as a lady in the classic 1993 film, Mrs. Doubtfire. Make sure to listen to Dude (Looks Like a Lady) by Aerosmith when visiting!
