Cal State Fullerton men’s basketball has three games remaining in their regular season conference schedule, and have a record of 9-4 in Big West Conference play after losing their most recent game at UC Santa Barbara, 82-67. The Titans are on track to be have the second best conference record, behind the UC Irvine Anteaters, and be the two seed in the Big West Tournament.

The defending Big West Conference Tournament champions have 9 of their previous 11 games following on 0-2 start to Big West Conference after losses at Hawaii and home to UC Irvine. The Titans are led by their big three of Kyle Allman, Jr., Khalil Ahmad and Jackson Rowe. The trio has combined for about 47 points per game.

Cal State Fullerton played an extremely difficult non-conference schedule, and their pre-conference record of 4-10 reflects the amount of tough opponents they had to play prior to their Big West schedule.

This is head coach Dedrique Taylor’s sixth season as head coach of the Titans. The Titans’ previous two seasons have two of their most successful in recent memory.

Last year Cal State Fullerton made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in 10 years, by defeating UC Irvine in the Big West Tournament Championship game, before ultimately losing to Purdue in the round of 64. The year before that Cal State Fullerton hosted their first ever postseason tournament in the CIT Tournament, falling to Weber State in the first round.

The Titans are once again one of the favorites to win the Big West Tournament, cut down the nets at the Honda Center in Anaheim, and accomplish something that no other men’s basketball team at Cal State Fullerton has ever done: make the NCAA Tournament in back-to-back seasons.
